Children of FS1 had an exciting and fun filled day. Both the blended learning and distance learning children were ready in their school uniform with a snack bag, water bottle and a cap to go on their first ever field trip along with their teachers. They boarded the Big Bus for the virtual field trip and on the journey, they saw different means of transportation such as taxi, RTA bus, tram, and Dubai metro. Our first destination was Dubai Frame. We took the ticket and climbed the elevator to Sky deck level. Children were thrilled to see the transparent glass walk and the view of Dubai from the top. We hopped on to the bus again to reach our final destination; Burj Khalifa and viewed Burj Khalifa in 360-degree. Later, they were engaged in hands on activity of making a building or a transport that they viewed during the virtual trip.

Children showed and spoke about their own country flags and also compared few details in the flags of their own country and the UAE flag. Children created their own UAE flags using dot painting, cutting and sticking or painting. They posted their pictures happily on the Padlet Wall. Parents got a clear picture on how the phonic skills are developed using the seven aspects and the various activities associated with them. In class, during the 30 minutes lesson every day, children acquire the skills through games, stories, rhymes and multi-sensory activities. Ms. Lorraine, Ms. Desiree and Ms. Dipti gave an insight to parents about the technique of teaching different sounds, letter recognition, letter formation, rhyming words, tricky words and the art of effective storytelling. They also answered parent queries at the end of the workshop. It was indeed a purposeful and informative webinar for the parents.
