It was a lively day in FS1. Both the blended learning and distance learning children dressed-up in their favourite attire for the year end celebration. Children played some fun games and frolicked on the tune of some popular children songs. To culminate the event students were awarded certificates – ‘Star of the Week’, ‘Appreciation Certificate’, ‘Principal’s Letter of Commendation and ‘Gold Leaf’.

Children of FS1 started their day with sun salutation. The blended and distance learners as well as the FS1 teachers were all ready with their yoga mats to perform different yoga asanas. A video by a parent who is a yoga instructor was also shared. Children understood how yoga helps in keeping our body and mind healthy. After performing the yoga poses, they also practiced breathing exercises followed by meditation for a minute.
Children of FS1 participated in ‘Sing and Dance program’ with great enthusiasm virtually. The students dressed up in their costumes and spoke confidently on Sharing and Caring. The program was enlivened up with their energetic performances on various songs. The teacher shared memories of the year that went past and each student was awarded with a participation certificate for the fantastic performance. Parents were impressed to see their children’s first concert. SLT members and middle leaders also enjoyed the show and motivated the students with their inspiring words.
Children of FS1 had an exciting and fun-filled day. Both the blended learning and distance learning children were ready with a snack bag, water bottle and a cap to go on their virtual field trip to Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. They enjoyed watching different species of fish and underwater creatures and learned about life in the water. After the experiential learning from the trip, children expressed their experience through the drawings and talked about the different sea creatures they had observed.

The blended learners, distance learners and the FS1 teachers dressed up as one of their favourite story characters from the ‘The Little Red Riding Hood’. The children dressed up very creatively along with their props. The story came alive as they spoke about the character and enacted the story with their friends and teachers using extensive vocabulary.
The children of FS1 were shown a puppet and were prompted to think ‘What would happen if they would watch the screen for long?’ They played a game of BINGO to find out the various activities they can engage in which do not require any devices. The children were also encouraged to keep a check on their daily screen time by maintaining a week long Device Log and then recording a Promise Post to reduce their screen time.
The children of FS1 celebrated the holy month of Ramadan with great enthusiasm. The children understood the purpose and tradition of Ramadan through a song. They were engaged in activities like – doing a kind deed by designing a reusable plastic container to make a bird feeder or a pencil holder, making a thank you card for helpers, helping their parents by doing home chores, making friendship bands over a period of one week for four weeks. Children also made lanterns to celebrate Eid.

Celebrations began with a beautiful song and children enjoyed shaking their legs on it. Later, the children watched a story on the lines of being happy with whatever we have and giving everyone a chance to do their best and be unique. Children of FS1 frolicked on the tune of their favourite song and were excited to watch their teachers enacted the story The Rainbow Fish.
FS1 celebrated World Oral Health Day. The children viewed a video on simple tips on how they can keep their teeth, tongue and gums healthy. The children were engaged in a discussion about the food that helps in keeping the teeth strong. They also learnt how to brush properly and how many times to brush their teeth through a song.
FS celebrated Emirati Children’s day on 15th March,2021. The children came dressed up in the costumes with UAE flag colours. The children of danced to the tune of an Arabic song and prepared a craft of an Emirati boy and girl. The children FS1 played a game and made a special crown for themselves.
