The 51st UAE National Day was celebrated with great spirit in the Foundation Stage. It was indeed a colorful and multicultural event. Some children came dressed in the colors of UAE flag while others dressed in their national costumes. Children paraded around the FS corridors, proudly waving the UAE flag. The celebrations continued in class where children along with their parents shared and spoke about their own country and danced to the folk songs from different countries. The children were engaged in creative activities and danced to Arabic music.

The field trip to Pond Park, Al Barsha was thoroughly enjoyed by the students as it was their first time to visit the outdoor play areas along with their friends and teachers. They sang songs in the bus and drove past buildings in Dubai. The weather was pleasant and children enjoyed the soft rays of morning sun. They observed birds, small animals, flowers and relished their breakfast together in the open space. They loved the story time and were delighted to play different games. It was a beautiful park where students played on different kinds of equipments and learnt about nature.FS students drew, sketched and discussed about the theme and were introduced to the word tolerance through a story ‘The bridge’ and the song ‘the more we get together, the happier we will be!’ Students pondered over the situational questions to include all the friends in during the play irrespective of their gender or the language they speak. Students created happy faces and posters to spread smiles and be kind and respectful to the people around them.
FS students celebrated ‘Well-being week’ with great joy. They understood the importance of having enough sleep and maintaining good mental, social and physical well-being. They watched a video and were engaged in various activities such as practicing mindfulness, yoga and breathing exercises. They learnt about washing hands before and after eating food and the benefits of eating healthy food. In addition, the students came dressed up in their favourite coloured clothes and enjoyed enacting different emotions with their buddies.FS students were given an insight about UAE Flag Day and the significance of each color in it. They represented the culture and heritage of this great nation by dressing up in the traditional attires and in the colours of the UAE flag. They were engrossed to create their own UAE flags using various materials and techniques. Students enjoyed holding the flag while singing the National Anthem. Later, a parade was carried out by the students and teachers in the FS corridors by raising the UAE flag high and saying the slogan ‘We love UAE’.
