Children experienced the evacuation process and were familiarized with the route towards the Assembly points. Before the fire drill, the students were advised not to panic in case of a fire alarm and also, teachers discussed the importance of moving in a calm and orderly manner to their respective assembly areas. edit.

FS1 had a plethora of engaging hands on activities based on the theme ‘My Family’ whereas FS2 activities were based on ‘Shapes in the Animal Kingdom’.
Children were engaged in various activities throughout the week like Sorting animals based on their patterns, Family Puzzles, Match and Compare, Who is Different, Who lives in your house? and many more. They also came dressed-up as a character from their favourite number rhymes. It was impressive to see our young children learn the new concept of ‘data’ – how to record and analyse it in simple ways! In FS, the children and teachers came dressed in green or had put a green ribbon as we celebrated World Mental Health Day. World Mental Health Day is an international day celebrated on the 14th of October aims to spread awareness and educate people about mental health in order to support people and remove the social stigma.
FS celebrated World Dyslexia Day on Sunday, 10th October, children and teachers came dressed-up in red colour clothes. The aim was to generate awareness about how dyslexic people understand things differently. Children were encouraged to support them by being patient and include them and their families in routine chores. Children were also engaged in some activities like spot the difference and a memory game. Teachers engaged them by giving them T-shirt cutouts to decorating creatively.
FS students explored Space through different activities. They enjoyed singing and dancing on the songs followed by a story. Students were engrossed in different activities such as joining shapes, solving puzzles and they even stretched their imagination by doing Space inspired art and craft. They could confidently name the moon, the sun, and the planet Earth. Overall it was a wonderful day as students showed their learning very well.
FS celebrated Teachers Day on Tuesday 5th October. The aim was to celebrate the amazing teachers who show up every day with professionalism, care, excellence and commitment. FS children created a card for their teachers. Teachers engaged them by asking questions like,” I wonder what would happen if there were no teachers?’ ‘My teacher is the best because…’
Road Safety Day was conducted if FS. Children were made aware of “How important traffic rules are”. Good road safety practices were discussed with the children like, wearing seatbelts, no talking over the phone while driving, crossing the road on the Zebra crossing /pedestrian crossing etc. They drew the traffic lights and learnt about the importance of different colours in the traffic light.
FS children participated enthusiastically in the awareness and celebration of Sewa Day and Global Dignity Day. Children were shown pictures and encouraged to discuss about kindness. They also sang a song and made a ‘Heart of Kindness’ to express their gratitude towards the people who help them. Later they were encouraged to share their experiences with their classmates. |
