The children of FS1 got an opportunity to pretend to be one of their favourite character from the stories they heard during their distant learning lessons. The event took place during the MS Teams Live Lessons. Children were excited and were feeling extra ordinary in their costumes. They chose characters from the books - The Little Red Hen, Little Red Riding Hood, The Rainbow Fish, Elmer the Elephant, The Cautious Caterpillar, Goldilocks and the three Bears, A Whale’s Tale and The Mixed-up Chameleon. During the session they were questioned about the character they had dressed up as and related questions about that particular story. They were challenged to think and give reasons for their answers. This also provided an opportunity to children to use new words and phrases that they might have heard in the story. Overall it was a wondrous day as the teachers too had dressed up and felt the positive vibes of the children.

FS1 children were very excited to have a day where they could display their creativity with blocks. They came up with their best work and created structures where each one was different than the other. Each child used their imagination to stack blocks of different shapes and sizes both vertically and horizontally to make their dream project. They built tall towers, road with cars, robot, transforming castle, little city, zoo and many more- all masterpieces in their own place. Each picture depicts the interest of each child and how well they were able to build different structures with their tiny blocks, each block placed well and balanced accurately to show how much they loved their blocks. They posted a picture showing what they have built with the blocks on the Padlet link provided below.

Later, they used these letters to build CVC words as shown on the PPT. Children had an enjoyable day and also sang the phonic songs along with actions.
