FS1 Parents Orientation 14th September,2017
The Orientation programme began with a welcome note to the Winchester Family. A brief explanation was given about the curriculum, school’s policies and regulations, children’s daily routine and also the importance and benefits of regularly following the Family Learning Newsletter and Home learning. We encouraged the parents to have an active learning and positive approach towards their child’s progress by participating in all learning programmes and workshops conducted at school. They were given an idea about the grading methods, further explaining about the Emerging, Expected and Exceeding criterias practiced by the school. Ms. Desiree shared few points about the role of a parent in the overall development and progress of a child. Parents were content and found the Orientation worth the time and effort.
FS1 Term 1 Fire Drill 4th October 2017
The 1st Fire drill for our little FS1 children. Some of the children got a bit nervous seeing the fast movement but most of them understood the need to walk fast and reach to a safe place while an emergency arises. They were alert and swift during this transition and were told the importance of such drill procedures carried out at school.
Win Aspires 15th October, 2017
The Dreams and Aspirations Day was celebrated on 15th October. Children came dressed in various outfits resembling to their dreams and ambition and were super excited to speak as well. Parents were invited from different professions such as Doctor, Teacher, Nurse, Policeman, Chef, Engineer etc. It was a delight for the little ones to listen to them when they shared their views and importance about their jobs. Various songs and videos on the diverse jobs were shared with children. We encouraged them to draw and express what they would want to become as adults and talk about their drawing. The parade conducted was liked by all in the FS Area.
Global Dignity Day 18th October 2017
We organised Global Dignity day to motivate our young learners to cultivate good habits in helping others and to achieve the same. Children took the initiative of helping and tiding up to keep the surroundings clean. This was done in the outdoor areas in every little possible way with the guidance of teachers.
Sewa Day 18th October 2017
A detailed explanation was given to children about the importance of Sewa Day. Celebrations began by creating lovely thank you cards, paper garlands, wrist bands, headbands by the little ones for our support staff, Admin and for SLT members. Sewa day was an eye opener to children, where they learnt to appreciate and be grateful to the people who help them. A conscious effort being evident in our little learners was another remarkable event to be marked this academic year.
Peace Day ( Mufti Day) 19th October 2017
On World Peace Day children as well as teachers came dressed in white, wherein the colour white symbolizes peace and wellbeing. Having being aware of the age group of our little learners, we spoke to them in simple sentences about peace and how to achieve this between friends ,siblings by not fighting but, by sharing and caring with others.
STEAM (WIN SPARKS) MY Body 22nd October 2017
It was a wonderful event as the parent and child were seen working together as a team. Children were engrossed with parents in projects to make models, solve puzzles, making of funny faces, skeletons, dental structures, etc. By having the children taking the initiative to work on projects in class, parents were all thrilled and excited to see them learn with such interest and enthusiasm. The outcome was a successive learning experience which was appreciated by all.
Win Entrepreneurs 8th November 2017
Win Entrepreneurs was a day which gave our budding artists a platform to exhibit their inborn skills and talents. Children created lovely things and also took the initiative to trade them under the supervision of teachers. They also had the opportunity to handle real money and it was a moment of pride for them. We encouraged and helped children in making bookmarks, greeting cards, pencil holders, table mats and ornaments. Best of Waste concept was kept in mind while creating products with coloured papers, tissue rolls, magazines and junk materials. A thumbs up was the indicator given by parents and also having smiling faces around revealed the success of this unique event. The money raised will be donated to ‘’ Dubai Cares’’.
Pyjamas Evening (The crunching munching caterpillar) 8th November 2017
Being the first Pyjamas Evening for the academic year 2017-18, children were anxious to witness something new and different. Parents and children enjoyed the story of ‘The Crunching munching caterpillar’. Children were comfortable in their cozy pyjamas with a soft toy tucked under their arm to enjoy the evening. The story was presented by the entire FS team teachers displaying their everlasting and promising talent. Parents and children too enacted the same making the event a memorable one for everyone. All in all the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Having an evening like this with such positive vibes, parents and children left with happiness and smiles to linger on. It was a wonderful evening and children looked forward to partake in many more such fanciful celebrations at school.
International Day for Tolerance 16th November 2017
The International Day for Tolerance is an annual observance declared by UNESCO to generate public awareness of the dangers of intolerance. It is observed on 16th November. Today teachers spoke about respecting and recognizing the needs and wants of others and valuing them. Children realized that there needs to be peace and harmony maintained always .By sharing and caring we can achieve this and grow up to be good individuals in life. Children themselves came up with suggestions to the topic explained and enjoyed the message conveyed to them.
FS1 Sports Day 2017-18 21st November 2017
The Annual FS1 Sports meet was an event where children were filled with pride and joy to show off their talents and strengths. The weather was just perfect to match the occasion and it gave an extra boon to begin the event. The parade was followed with a warm up session by dancing to the beats. There were four events for the little ones to exhibit their gross motor skills. Participating in the obstacle race, relay, building a tower with blocks and balancing the ball were fun filled and challenging. Parents too were given a chance to brush their skills with the musical chair competition. Every child received a participation certificate which was a joy to watch especially as these were distributed by parents. A day worth remembering with enthusiastic children and whole hearted participation by parents.
46th UAE National Day 29th November 2017
The 46th UAE National Day was celebrated on the 29th.November 2017. It was certainly a vibrant, multinational event. Children came dressed in the colours of the UAE flag while others came in their National costume. We also had some very passionate parents who dedicated their time to share & enlighten our budding learners about different cultures and about UAE. Children got better understanding of the cultures of different countries. They also drew the UAE National Flag, Falcon, Metro, Burj Khalifa, Camel, desert using different mark making tools. After the presentation a parade was conducted waving the UAE Flag with the slogan ‘We love UAE’ in the FS Area.
Day of Gratitude 7th December 2017
A day of gratitude is a perfect time to remind one another of the many reasons there are to be grateful for. These heartfelt messages were conveyed by making cards and gifting it to those special people who always assist them to bring happiness in life. By doing so it reflects our gratitude and thoughts and also brings joy and meaning to the actions and kind deeds shown. This day was celebrated throughout the school with great passion and enthusiasm. Little one’s were made to understand that we need to appreciate and thank people who help us.
Importance of Hand wash 11th December 2017
Our young students in the Foundation stage enjoyed an interactive session about the importance of hand washing before and after food, after sneezing or coughing, after using washroom or when they come inside from playing. The children learned the 6 steps of hand washing which should last at least 20 seconds. They were encouraged and also made to understand that maintaining cleanliness always will lead us to a healthy life.
Literacy day 25th January 2018
We organised Literacy day to motivate our young learners to come dressed up in various nursery rhyme characters. Children were encouraged to sing and enact to highlight the importance of literacy in their own little way. This event was full of fun and exciting as children enjoyed singing their favourite nursery rhymes in the FS Area.
Civil Defence Drill (Term 2) 28th January 2018
Term2 fire drill went well wherein the students were confident and alert at all times. Having such practices, children are now capable to manage themselves and know the importance of such drills during and unseen situation. Student’s swift movement with ease to designated areas and maintaining safety is the key point of conducting such drills at regular intervals. Children were happy to see the civil defence team dressed in uniform and a demo on rescue operation was displayed.
FS1 Field Trip : Mattel Play Town 11th March 2018
The young learners of FS1 had their 2nd Field trip to Mattel Play Town. The children were thrilled to see and hear Barney singing some of their favourite songs. They enjoyed exploring and playing in the different Role Play Areas. They were overjoyed seeing familiar characters like Bob the builder, Angelina the Ballerina, Sam the fire fighter, watching Thomas the train in a 4DX movie wearing special glasses, Barney’s house, reading books, walking on the piano and many more. It was a wonderful experience for the little ones to explore their creativity with friends while learning to share and care. Children enjoyed the journey in the big yellow bus as they sang their favourite rhymes and it was indeed a joy ride for all.
International Day of Happiness 20th March 2018
20th March has been established as the Annual International Day for Happiness recognizing the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of human beings around the world. Children were made to understand that being happy at the end of the day and calling for happiness has to be given greater priority. Different activities were conducted throughout the day at school where they were engaged and excited in making happy head bands, cards, hand fans and happy wrist watches and gifting them to their friends and teachers. This International Day of Happiness is more than just a fun celebration, it also reminds us all that the world is a better place when we connect and care about people around us.
International Women’s Day 8th March 2018
International Women’s Day is a collective day of global celebration and a call for gender parity. It was just a perfect way to celebrate this wonderful occasion at school by preparing delicious fruit salad assisted by their teachers. Students felt proud of the fact that they were involved in the preparation and thoroughly cherished the salad they made and loved sharing it with all. By doing so it reflects our gratitude and thoughts and also brings joy and meaning to the actions and kind deeds shown. This day was celebrated throughout the school with great passion and enthusiasm. Little one’s were made to understand that we need to appreciate and thank the women who truly are a blessing in one’s life.
Earth Day (Mufti Day) 22nd March 2018
Earth Day is an Annual event celebrated worldwide, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. On this day children as well as teachers came dressed in earthy colours – green, blue and brown. Keeping in mind the age of our little learners, we spoke to them in simple ways about saving the earth by not wasting water, to grow small plants for fresh air, switch off the lights when not in the room and the most important thing not to litter the surroundings.

Anti bullying Day 26th April 2018
Anti-bullying event was conducted to create awareness in children to promote good behaviour. The same was explained through Role Play, videos and children also showed their understanding through drawings. Having such practices, children were capable to manage themselves on their own and are well aware of such behaviour during situations. Positive behavior was reinforced by using words like be polite, be kind, be caring and be friendly.
World Health and Safety Day 28th April 2018
The World Health and Safety day was held on 28.4.18. At school children were given a demonstration on the different ways of handling equipment/tools safely. Children were taught the safety measures of how to use scissors and other tools. They were made to understand that by maintaining the safety measures at all times we can always prevent an accident. Thus the term Safety plays a key role to protect us everywhere.
Stranger/Danger 28th April 2018
This important topic of teaching children about the inherent dangers they may face as they venture out in this world. In the past few days teachers reinforced the Stranger Danger tips with all. They were made to understand the difference between good/bad strangers, how to reach out for safety most importantly instilling confidence in them. Examples of good strangers may include police officers, security guards etc. where the child can turn for help on the other hand unknown faces at parks, restaurants, hospitals etc, were termed for children to be alert of strangers. PPT’s and general discussions enabling children to think on different scenarios how to identify, react and play safe were encouraged. Role play was another effective way of making them realize how to be aware and behave in such unseen situations.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed’s 100th Birthday 7th May 2018
Children were shown videos of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed on his 100th birthday to mark the contributions he has made in building the United Arab Emirates. Their knowledge was enhanced by talking and sharing with them on who he was and his achievements to build the U.A.E. Children were then encouraged to identify H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed and draw pictures of his Highness.

Our Annual Sing and Dance Concert was an event to build confidence and instill the belief of self-assurance in young learners. Children’s hard work and practice paid off when we had all parents praising the effort and dedication which was evident throughout their performance. Our concert theme revolved round the topics based on moral values where each class reflected topics like Appreciation, Friendship, Golden rules, Honesty etc. It was an occasion for each and every child to celebrate and their happiness had no boundaries when they all received certificates and tons of admiration. It was indeed a proud moment of joy for parents and children as they were all excited and content.
